Course description:
Vorticity, Ertel PV, quasi-geostrophic theory, PV-thinking and
w-thinking. Barotropic instability, baroclinic instability.
Frontogenesis. Wave-mean flow interaction.
Prerequisites:
ATM S 509/OCEAN 512 or equivalent.
