We are the Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society at the Unversity of Washington

Our Mission
We work to promote our members’ education and professional development in the field of atmospheric sciences and to build a strong community across undergraduate and graduate students alike. Our members share experiences through monthly professional meetings, social events, and volunteer opportunities.

Our Vision
We seek to create a welcoming, inclusive, and ultimately lifelong network that will serve students in atmospheric sciences throughout their academic and professional careers.
What we do
We host a multitude of monthly, quarterly and annual events
Monthly meetings
At our monthly meetings, we host professionals using a meteorology degree or discuss scholarship and internship opportunities
Monthly social events
Social events are an opportunity for members to mingle over bowling, sports events, and other fun activities
Biannual field trips
We organize field trips about twice a year to broadcast meteorology stations, the NWS office, or other facilities
AMS student conference
We provide financial support for undergraduate members to attend the annual conference
