The Pacific Northwest
Weather Workshop will be held Friday and Saturday, 27 and 28 February 2004,
at Building 9 on the NOAA Western Regional Center campus at Sand Point
in Seattle, Washington.This annual
conference, sponsored by the National Weather Service, University of Washington,
and Puget Sound Chapter of the American Meteorological Society, covers
recent developments in weather forecasting and observational technologies,
major weather events of the past year, and topics dealing with western
U.S. meteorology.
This year we are encouraging abstracts
dealing with:weather and surface
transportation in the PNW, major PNW weather events of 2003/4 including
the snow and ice storm earlier this month, local modeling efforts, and
the transition to gridded forecast disseminaton in the Pacific Northwest.In
addition to these specific areas, we welcome abstracts covering material
of general interest to the meteorological community of the Pacific Northwest.
The banquet will take place at Mia Roma Italian Restaurant in Kenmore on Friday, February 27 at 7 PM (no-host bar at 6 PM). Cost will be $25 per person including:
Pasta, Lasagna, or Chicken Scallopine Marsala
Pre-registration is requested for all attendees. Registration will be $20 for regular attendees ($5 for students) and will include afternoon and morning breaks, and a pre-print volume.
