| Dear Colleague:
Thank you for your interest in attending our workshop. The tentative program is now available. We ask that you register online. as soon as possible and certainly by 19 February. A second flier will be mailed in a few weeks. As you will see in the program, the first day will deal with orographic precipitation, radar, hydrological modeling, flooding, and other water-related issues. The second day will consider regional mesoscale forecasting, regional weather features, the results from major West Coast field programs, and ENSO/PDO relationships with west coast weather. Registration Info: This year there will be a $6.00 registration fee (except $3.00 for students) to cover refreshments and additional miscellaneous costs. You can pay this when you arrive. In addition, we have arranged for lunch service on Saturday in the NOAA cafeteria. The price will be about $6.00. This is a good deal and we strongly encourage you to join us, as there are very few eating options near NOAA and we have only allowed one hour for lunch. Banquet Info: Our banquet will be held at Ivar's Salmon House on Friday evening the 26th. We are very pleased to have George Miller as our speaker. He is a Retired NWS Area Manager for Oregon and will be speaking on "Floating Houses and Businesses, The Great Willamette River Flood of December 1861" The menu and cost of the banquet at Ivar's Salmon House will be chowder, green salad, or coleslaw (your choice), corn bread,
ice cream and coffee, tea, or soft drink The price includes meal, tax, and gratuity. Lodging Information A block of rooms has been set aside at the University Silver Cloud Inn.
