10/31:  The operations plan has been released and the first IMPROVE flight test of the Convair 580 was completed.

  9/20:   NSF funding will support the deployment of the ETL S-Band vertically pointing radar and an additional profiler.

  8/16:  The IMPROVE II Group Planning Meeting occurred on 16 August 2001 at the University of Washington, Seattle.  Representatives from the UW, NWS, Navy, NCAR, PNL, SUNY Stony Brook, and others met to discuss the goals of the project and to begin the detailed planning process.

  8/8:  IMPROVE II has been allocated 70h of time on the NOAA P3

  6/15:  IMPROVE II has been allocated the NCAR S-Pol, two 915 Mhz profilers, and 50 radiosonde launches by the
NCAR Facilities Advisory Council

  6/10:  PNL Northwest Lab (Dept. of Energy) will be bringing a range of instrumentation to IMPROVE.  According to Dr. Tom Ackerman, the instrumentation will include a scanning lidar, a scanning cloud radar, a vertically pointing cloud radar, two radiometers, and surface instrumentation.
