James is a graduate student in the Department of Atmospheric and Climate Science working with Joel Thornton and Alex Turner. James is interested in biosphere-atmospheric chemistry interactions in remote tropical forests. For his Master’s work, he used global chemical transport modeling to reconcile satellite observations of isoprene, a biogenic molecule emitted from trees. His current work looks at how convection lofts isoprene into the upper troposphere and how isoprene chemically interacts with lightning and soil microbial emissions.
