Claire Zarakas

Claire is broadly interested in global-scale interactions between terrestrial ecosystems, land use, and climate. She is currently studying the hydrologic implications of land ecosystems’ responses to elevated CO$_2$ and climate change.

Claire completed her PhD in 2024 and was named a Schmidt Science Fellow. Before starting graduate school in the Atmospheric Sciences department, she worked at a public sector consulting firm, where she conducted research to inform climate mitigation and adaptation policies. As an undergraduate she majored in Geosciences at Princeton University.
