I had of course read the webpage (http://www.jisao.washington.edu/data_sets/sstanom_4by6/) and the header of the netCDF file (since I'm not actually that lazy and I'm not really into wasting other people's time). Unfortunately neither source answered the specfic questions about the processing of the SLP anomalies that I put to you i.e. (a) whether the running mean (of either 3 or 5 points) was centred (since presumably it could also be a forward or back average) and (b) how you dealt with edge effects at land (as I assume that you didn't include your 32767 missing values in the running mean there). Perhaps these things are so obvious that you don't need to put them on your website. Best wishes, Simon Todd Mitchell wrote: >Hi Simon, Friday 11 July 2003 > >I'm not exactly sure which data set you are referring to. >It is really helpful for communicating if you send the >URLs for the pages you are talking about. > >The reduced-resolution data set is at >http://www.jisao.washington.edu/data_sets/sstanom_4by6/ >and it was processed as stated on the WWW page.
