in Eady's model. The initial condition is a localized disturbance on the
tropopause, which gives rise to a classically developing surface cyclone.
The surface loop shows the surface potential temperature field in colors,
and the surface pressure field in solid black lines, every 4 hPa; the tropopause
loop shows the tropopause potential temperature in blue contours and the
surface pressure contours in red lines.
