Forecast info/links
The main concerns for the rowing team are winds and currents and how
they interact. The details of the forecast depend somewhat on whether
they are inland or in the open ocean. The team will want to know:
what are the winds and tides going to be like for the next 12 hours or
day? Are there any potential weather systems on the horizon that
should be considered?

In-house plots
- (Angel) GFS tropical
Atlantic RH (shading), geopotential height (in green, 15 m contour
interval), and temperature (red, 2 deg C contour interval)
- Timeseries of data from boat (pdf)
(png), updates hourly
- RTOFS surface current forecasts for the 3^2 degrees near boat. Colors are current speed, black
contours are whole kts (1, 2, and 3). Arrows show current direction
(but not speed; they're all the same length). Current data updates
daily, boat position hourly. The stars show the latest boat position
(the vertically-centered one) and the position 24 h before that (the
non-centered one)
