REPORT GUIDELINES
Description
Source sheet
Important Details:
- The paper should be 4-5 pages double spaced.
Submitting a paper longer than 5 pages will not result in a higher grade, and may result in a lower grade.
- A proposed topic must be submitted on
https://catalysttools.washington.edu/webq/survey/cig4/61745 by October 13th.
- The deadline for submission of your paper is lecture on Wednesday, November 26.
- See Description for more details.
- When you submit your report, you will also need to submit (electronically) a list of your sources. Please document all articles read in the Source sheet.
- You need to read and document at least 20 articles. If you read and document more than 20 articles, however, your conclusions will be stronger and more convincing (hence, your grade is also likely to be higher; see "Effort" below).
- Submit your source sheet for the project before noon on November 26 to: https://catalysttools.washington.edu/collectit/assignment/cig4/4194/13591
Grading: Reports will be evaluated in terms
of:
- Format (40%): follows
assigned structure; grammar; style
(report should be clear, concise, and persuasive; use complete
sentences, check your spelling, avoid slang, and be sure to define all
technical terms at first usage).
- Content (40%): accurate,
fair use of sources; logic and completeness (e.g. how well does it
address the questions raised in Introduction?); critical analysis
(questioning, judging, balancing different arguments); focus on
scientific, climate-related issues.
- Effort (20%):
originality; incorporation of concepts and vocabulary from the
course; sufficient number of sources to defend your thesis
