Class Description
This is an introductory course for non-science majors on the theory of human-induced climate change, popularly known as "global warming."  The text has been chosen because it presents the current scientific consensus.  The lectures will provide a critical analysis of this consensus.  We will also examine stronger claims made by advocates on both sides - "skeptics" and "alarmists," as they are sometimes called.    The ultimate goal of the course is to understand the basic science of global warming and its impacts on ecology and society.
