Assignments
Assignments are due by the beginning of class on the due date.
If you cannot hand it in at lecture you may have someone else bring it to lecture or you may place it in Steve Hudson's mailbox, just inside the door to room 410 ATG Building.
Assignments may also be emailed to hudson@atmos.washington.edu as either Word or PDF documents.
No assignments will be accepted late without prior arrangement.
Solutions will be posted after assignments are handed in.

Due Tuesday 20 February: Assignment 4     Solutions



Read the Gaia Paper for discussion on Friday 9 February. There is no electronic copy, so you will have to get the paper from Steve. We will discuss it in section.

Due Monday 12 February: Assignment 3     Solutions

Due Monday 29 January: Problem Set 2 (Solving for epsilon)    Solutions

Due Friday 19 January: Problem Set 1 We will be covering the material for problems 2 to 4 during the week. Solutions to problem set 1.

Due Wednesday 10 January: Perform the experiment described here and bring in the analysis and write up to lecture. It will be turned in, but will not carry much weight torwards your grade because of potential difficulties with the experiment.

Due Monday 8 January: Find and read a climate-related news article published sometime within the last two months. Turn in a written summary of the article and either a copy of the article, a complete reference to the article (source title, article title, date, page), or an accurate URL for the article. The summary should be less than 150 words.

Climate survey Complete before section on Friday 5 January. Results will be transmitted anonymously, but whether or not you complete it will be recorded. We want to get an idea of what people know before the class, so please don't try to look up answers; not all questions have one correct answer.
