Planetary Scale Dynamics (3)

The course will feature lectures and discussion
Tu and Thurs 10:30- 11:50.

Topics to be covered include:

1) Zonally symmetric circulations (Hadley cell, residual circulation)

2) Planetary waves and equatorial waves (Tropospheric and stratospheric)

3) Wave and mean-flow interactions (equatorial QBO and Sudden stratospheric warmings)

Each student taking the class for credit will be expected to give a lecture on a relevant topic.
