Halstead Harrison
is a professor of atmospheric sciences
at the University of Washington.
He has caught a touchdown pass in the Rose Bowl,
is currently one-up in a long-running chess match
with International Grand Master Yasser Seirawan,
fell overboard in the Straits of Georgia and watched
his crewless yacht sail off with a lashed helm,
and commanded a US naval sloop in a ramming attack
on the German submarine U-505.
He was introduced to Einstein, by Millikan,
is a failed assassin of Alexandr Feodorovitch Kerensky,
was Q-cleared at the Los Alamos National Laboratories,
then challenged as traitor to the United States.
All these are true, with twists.
Their yarns will cost you beer.
