CV/Resume
I was born and raised in the suburbs north of Los Angeles, California. I graduated from UCLA in 2002 with a bachelor's in atmospheric, oceanic and environmental sciences and a minor in mathematics. While at UCLA, I worked for a company that designed radars for the military and helped develop the weather processor on a radar for the US Air Force. I also had the opportunity to do research using airborne Doppler radar from data over the northeast Atlantic Ocean. I knew that radar was the research tool for me! For that reason, I decided to attend graduate school at the University of Washington in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences. I earned my master's degree from the department in 2005, and am currently working towards finishing my PhD in 2008. Last spring, I also earned my master's degree from the Department of Applied Mathematics. During my studies, I have been able to attend numerous conferences, prepare and give countless talks on many different topics, publish my research in peer-reviewed journals, and participate in two field campaigns. You can read more about these on my research page.
When I'm not doing research and teaching, I love spend my time outdoors either running with my dogs, Loki and Lexi, hiking, walking along the many bodies of water in Seattle, or working in my backyard. I also enjoy reading books of all kinds and watching many, many movies. I am also an amateur photographer, sports enthusiast, and knitter. But my favorite thing to do is to travel. I've had a few amazing travel experiences and can't wait to enjoy more of what the outside world has to offer!
